DEPENDING ON THE RANCH

This outfitter has 3 ranches just south of Juno in terrain that typically is not as physical as some west Texas hunts. He takes a very limited amount of hunters and success the past couple years has been near 100 percent. Hunters typically see quite a few sheep daily and target rams around 28 inches with some taken up to 32. Hunters should expect shots from 200 to 400 yards and physical hiking.

On Ranch #1 he offers 3 day hunts in January and February or September and October, during the rut, priced at $3,600 and includes very rough bunkhouse lodging. Motel accommodations are about a 20 minute drive and can be utilized at the hunter’s expense. 4 wheel drive vehicle recommended to access ranch. Two hunters needed to book a spot and up to 4 can be taken.

Ranch #2 is priced at $4,000 for a 3 day hunt from February to early April and again from mid August to the first week of September. This ranch has easier access off a paved road. Single hunters are welcome along with groups up to 3.

Skyline Ranch is $3,900 for 3 days in September and October. Better accommodations than the other ranches and about an hour off the pavement, semi remote. 4 wheel drive vehicle needed to access ranch. 2 hunters needed to book a spot and they can take up to 4.

Very limited openings on all ranches and licenses are an additional $50. Hunters fly into San Angelo and typically rent a 4 wheel drive vehicle for the 2 1/2 hour drive. Hunt AU915.
