They offer a 4 night package hunt with 3 hunting days for one hunter including day rates and trophy fee on stags scoring up to 340 SCI for $6,000. Cost for the flight to base camp will be around $500 per hunter. Sometimes it is necessary to use a helicopter on chamois hunts and the charge would then be POA. Some chamois hunts can be conducted without the aid of a helicopter.
Early April is prime roaring for the stags, and they also offer wapiti, fallow deer, Arapawa rams, wild goats, turkey, ducks and great trout fishing. Additional days are $450 for hunters and $250 for non-hunters. Archery hunters have an additional charge of $150 per day.
Export permit and trophy packaging to be taken home with the hunter is $200. Crating and shipping are also available. Top notch accommodations and hunting makes this a great New Zealand destination. TEXAS RANCH
NEW ZEALAND RED STAG HUNTS
AS LOW AS $6000
The owner of this Texas panhandle ranch has some of the finest red deer hunting in North America. Years ago, he artificially inseminated his females with the semen from the largest stags available in New Zealand. That was all it took to start a good genetic self-sustaining herd on the property.
3 day trophy hunts are $6,000 and you can take a stag grossing up to 350 SCI. Stags scoring 350 to 400 SCI are priced at only $8,000 and over 400 points is currently $15,000 or higher.
Hunts include great lodging with fantastic meals and are guided 1×1. The property is quite brushy, and it is just a fun hunt with the added bonus of taking home a cooler full of tasty meat.
This hunt can be done from late August into October and can be combined with management whitetail, red sheep, or Sitka deer. Non-hunters are $250 per day and a youth hunter can take a cull whitetail buck. Hunters are picked up at Amarillo airport. HCU’s Scott Steinkruger and Cliff Graham have been on this ranch. Hunt RD806.
