Here is a bargain priced Saskatchewan bear hunt with an awesome outfitter that takes a small number of hunters each year with a high amount of bear sightings and includes fishing.

2025 spring started just fine with everyone killing their bear including a couple monster 400 pounders. Second hunt a major fire was getting close to the area, and they had to evacuate halfway through the hunt. They ended the season with a total of 10 hunters tagging 6 bears.

2024 spring finished with 6 hunters taking 6 bears averaging over 300 pounds and the best bear was taken by HCU hunter, Bob Mallory, an old 400 pound plus beautiful chocolate bear with only 3 legs. 2 bears would make Boone and Crockett and all 3 bowhunters killed Pope and Young bears.

6 day hunts are priced at $3,900 and INCLUDE license/tax along with cabin accommodations and meals. The cabin is situated right on Tobin Lake, known for large walleyes. The Saskatchewan River is also accessible from the lodge, and it holds some fantastic walleye fishing. He provides boats, motor, and gas. Most bear hunters only fish about 2 to 3 hours per day and normally catch enough walleyes to keep busy.

This wilderness hunt takes place about 300 miles north of Prince George on Usilika Lake. Beautiful scenery combined with some fishing just out the cabin door makes for a very memorable hunt. British Columbia does not allow baiting, so the main method of hunting is driving logging roads and glassing clear-cuts or watching feeding areas. Plenty of bears are seen and success continues near 100 percent.

2025 spring finished with everyone taking home a bear and a couple guys tagged two, averaging an amazing 7 foot.

2024 spring his 26 bear hunters killed 30 bears averaging 7 foot, 2 hunters passed and 6 killed a second bear.

5 hunting days is $6,000 guided 2×1 or $7,000 for 1×1 and a second bear can be taken for an additional $2,000. Hunts start third week of May and continue to mid-June catching some rut activity. This hunt is normally done out of his Usilika Lake lodge where you can fish in the mornings and hunt from 4 to 10 pm in the evenings. This outfitter prefers to only take 2 hunters per week but can take up to 4. He works extremely hard on stand location and finding game and doing everything he has control of.

2025 spring he had 5 hunters tag 5 bears with the best skull at 19 1/2 inches and one bear was hit and lost. One of the hunters tagged 2 bruins and the unsuccessful hunter passed.

2024 spring he had 8 hunters tag 8 bears and one hunter took 2. The unsuccessful hunter saw a real giant first evening out and later passed on several others hoping to get another chance at the big one with no luck. 2 bears had skulls over 20 inches and 2 more over 19.

Black bear hunts are $4,500 and consist of 6 hunting days typically from May 5 to June 12. A second bear can be hunted for an additional $500 plus $750 if successful. All stands are set up for archers or rifle hunters.

MANITOBA BLACK BEARS/FISHING

This outfitter has one of the largest bear hunting areas in Manitoba consisting of over 3000 square miles. Bear sizes are good with an overall average of 250 plus pounds squaring around that magical 6 foot mark.

Spring he normally takes about 40 hunters and typically everyone sees multiple bears and most everyone kills except for repeat hunters looking for a particular color phase or the odd monster bruin. Fall he only does about 15 hunters with the same results.

Camp is located on the Winnipeg River with fishing for pike, walleye and smallmouth bass. He normally takes up to 12 hunters per week. Spring fishing is typically best, and non-hunting fishermen can tag along for only $1,100. You will be transported to and from your remote bait site by ATV. Average shots are about 20 yards for either gun or bow. We like the spring hunts from mid-May to June and the fall hunts from late August to September 10. Opportunity has been close to 100 percent spring or fall, and color phase runs about 10 percent for chocolate or cinnamon.
